Six typical tasks, one technology: from rust, paint and graffiti to moulds and wood, laser power and process parameters are matched to the material and the layer or contamination to be removed.
Across all six applications, the principle is the same: the laser works selectively. Parameters are matched to the substrate, coating and required result. For rust, the degree of corrosion matters; for wood, the species, surface and condition are key. The process is dry, uses no conventional blasting media or chemical cleaning agents, and can be focused precisely on the area to be treated. The result depends on the material, contamination or coating, surface condition and laser parameters. That is why every new application should begin with a test on the actual component or a representative sample.

Metal: rust, paint, oxidation and moulds
On metal surfaces, rust, paint, oxide layers and scale can be removed selectively to prepare components for further processing — for example weld preparation, restoration, maintenance or tool and mould cleaning. In automotive and classic-car applications, parameters are matched to sheet thickness, coating and the required finish. For moulds, dies and tools, the ability to reach contours and cavities without conventional blasting media can be particularly valuable.
Construction and façades: graffiti on stone, concrete and clinker brick
For graffiti and surface contamination on façades, laser cleaning can be used on suitable stone, concrete and clinker brick. In heritage conservation, careful parameter selection is essential so that the effect on the underlying surface is kept to a minimum. A test area should always be used before larger-scale work.
Wood: charring, old paintwork and soiling
Wood requires its own parameter strategy. Suitable contamination, charring and old coatings can be treated, with settings matched to the wood species, surface and condition. Because results vary from piece to piece, a sample test is the sensible first step.

suits which task?
Material, contamination, area and frequency of use determine which laser cleaning machine and power class make sense. The Beamlux range extends from 200 to 6,000 W.
Precision work and mobile use
For sensitive components, detailed cleaning and mobile work, the BL Portable Pulse is available with 200 or 300 W. According to the product catalogue, the two-axis cleaning head provides a scan field of up to 245 × 245 mm and a cleaning speed of up to 30,000 mm/s. The system is air-cooled and can also be operated from a battery, allowing mains-free work outdoors where the safety conditions permit.
Large areas and continuous operation
For larger areas, production and continuous use, the BL Compact Pulse and BL CW series are designed for higher throughput. The catalogue lists CW versions with 1,500, 2,000, 3,000 and 6,000 W for rapid rust removal on extensive metal surfaces and demanding industrial applications. Listed materials include aluminium, alloys, copper, iron, steel and stainless steel.
Welding and cleaning in one machine
The BL Welding Machine combines four functions: welding, cutting, weld-seam cleaning and rust removal. The catalogue lists steel, stainless steel, galvanised sheet and aluminium as suitable materials, with power classes from 1,500 to 6,000 W.

Depending on the version, Beamlux laser systems can generate Class 4 laser radiation. Before commissioning, an application-specific risk assessment must be carried out and an appropriate laser-controlled area established. Laser safety eyewear must be selected for the specific wavelength and expected power.
